Benefactor Haroutyoon Ayvazian Donates $300,000 To Pasadena St. Gregory Armenian Church

The parish priest and parish council of St. Gregory Armenian Church of Pasadena, joyfully announce to the greater Armenian community of Southern California, that well-known benefactor Haroutyoon Ayvazian has made a generous $300,000 contribution to our parish in loving memory of his late father, Krikor Ayvazian.

Mr. Ayvazian, greatly respected in the community, was born in Baghdad, Iraq and immigrated with his parents to the U.S., settling in Pasadena in 1968. After graduating from Pasadena City College, he attended U.C.L.A., where he graduated with a degree in Biology. Entering the business world, he has made his career in real estate development.

Demonstrating his unlimited passion for Armenian causes, Mr. Ayvazian has selflessly given to ANCA (Armenian National Committee of America), All Armenia Fund, Armenia’s Orphan and Disabled Fund and the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem, among others.

Part of Mr. Ayvazian’s donation will be used to embellish the sanctuary’s altar area with a fresco of the resurrection of Christ, by European-trained artist Shant Giragosian. Additionally, in sweet memory of Krikor Ayvazian, a mosaic of the Vision of Krikor Loosavoreech will be added to the entrance of the sanctuary.

Importantly, an endowment in the name of Haroutyoon Ayvazian will be created, the interest of which, in perpetuity will be used to invest in our parish youth.

We invite the Pasadena community to rejoice with us in congratulating and thanking Mr. Ayvazian for his kind consideration of the ministry of our parish and for the future of the Armenian community in Southern California.
